What to do if you test positive for Covid-19

If you test positive for Covid-19 a staff member from the central Covid-19 response team with the Ministry of Health will contact you to let you know how they will support you.  This may take a couple of days so if you have concerns in this time please call us.  Note that your GP may not be advised if you receive a positive result so please let us know and we will be happy to provide further assistance as needed.  And try not to worry – the vast majority of Covid-19 is mild to moderate and can be well managed at home.  The following documents provide really good advice:

Covid-19 Positive – What symptoms can I expect?

Covid-19 Positive – When to get help

Covid-19 Positive – How to manage your symptoms

Also check out more info for managing at home on the Health Navigator website, or call the Covid-19 Healthline on 0800 3585453.

Vaccine Exemptions

Vaccine Exemptions are not issued by GPs.  Click here to be redirected to the Ministry of Health website for advice on the process.  If you meet the clinical criteria, your GP will complete a form for you, and you email this form to the Director-General of Health as part of your application for a temporary exemption.  Note that there are very few people who are eligible as there are very tight criteria.
